Setting Goals
Instead
of trying to tackle many daunting goals at once, choose one large
goal and break it into smaller, more manageable pieces. So
whether your intention is to lose 20 pounds or to master a certain
yoga pose try these simple strategies to help ensure success.
- Choose one goal. Make a list of the things
you want to accomplish in the next few years and then determine
your top priority. Pick something you are committed to
that will take 6 to 12 months to complete.
- Break it down. Set a sub-goal you can
realistically accomplish in the next month or two.
- Now set a weekly goal that brings you closer to
achieving the sub-goal.
- Take daily action. Each morning, plan to complete
one concrete task that will help you attain your weekly goal.

Tips
for Better Health
Dr.
Andrew Weil's Self Healing, January 2009
Vigorous exercise may help prevent breast cancer. Post
menopausal women who enjoyed activities such as biking on hills,
running, and fast dancing were 13 percent less likely to develop the
disease.
A
study of 517 diabetics found that eating fish may protect the
kidneys. Those who consumed fish twice a week were 75 percent
less likely to show early signs of kidney disease.
A flu shot may do more than protect you for the influenza
virus. It can also reduce the risk of developing a blood clot
by 26 percent, according to new findings from France.
